We’re all about keeping our finger on the pulse of this lively city, so no doubt you’ll always be kept up to date with what’s on at the Eddy. Don’t worry, no boring bingo, no RSVP meetups, just great occasions worth writing home about. Of course a casual drink and bite to eat is always warmly welcome, but it also can’t hurt to navigate your night’s festivities at the Eddy with these upcoming stellar events.

What’s on at the Metro

Our friendly neighbours at The Metro have some serious gigs coming up in the next month, making The Eddy the perfect before and after pit stop to your night. Here’s what’s coming up over the next few weeks:

The Whitlams - Friday September 2

Hayden James - Thursday September 15

City Calm Down - Friday September 23

Michael Franti - Thursday September 29

Big Scary - Saturday October 1

The perfect match

There’s not much better than watching your team play in the finals, and Thursday 8th September marks the start of finals week 1 for the AFL Premiership Season.  Why not head into the Eddy for a bite to eat and an ale before everything kicks off, or stop by for a drink post match and really start your night right?  West Coast Eagles play Western Bulldogs at 6.10pm at Domain Stadium on Thursday 8th September, while Geelong Cats take on Hawthorn at the MCG at 7.50pm on Friday 9th September.  Closer to home, the mighty Sydney Swans take on the GWS Giants at ANZ stadium on Saturday 10th September at 3.20pm, while the Adelaide Crows will challenge North Melbourne later that day at 7.10pm at Adelaide Oval.

Wine Workshops

Brush up on your vintages, perfect your swirl, sniff, sip, or just understand the difference between red and white - our winemaker sessions are the perfect opportunity to get to know more about the liquid in your glass and where it comes from, for free.

This Thursday 1 September from 5.30pm meet winemaker Alex Retief and be regaled by his history with wine. Alex’s passion goes beyond a combination of Old and New World philosophies, playing around with blending wine from different NSW regions and even making wine overseas and bringing it back to Australia in barrel. His wines are elegant, fun, approachable and show great quality and finesse.

Alex also runs Urban Winery Sydney, Australia’s first city-based commercial winery.  With a cellar door in the heart of Sydney’s inner west, Urban Winery Sydney is a little piece of wine country within the city sprawl.  Alex runs tours and you can pop in for a cheese plate and tasting flight, or for those looking for something a little more personal, Alex can even help you develop, mature and label your very own barrel of wine.

This little gem is not to be missed.  Get in touch on (02) 9565 5771, or shoot them an email at enquiries@urbanwinerysydney.com.au
